BANGALORE: Horticultural Producers’ Cooperative Marketing and Processing Society Limited (HOPCOMS) will organise “Grapes Mela 2008” here from Monday. The aim is to encourage grape growers in the State and to provide varieties of grapes at a fair price to the people. HOPCOMS will hold the mela for one-and-a-half month and plans to sell 80 tonnes of grapes through its 30 outlets in Bangalore. B. Mune Gowda, president of HOPCOMS, told presspersons on Friday that the mela would be inaugurated initially at HOPCOMS outlets near Hudson Circle and Rajalakshmi Nursing Home, Jayanagar 5th Block. The mela would begin in 25 other outlets, including three mobile counters in Bangalore and in Anekal, Channapatna, Devanahalli and Kanakapura, in a week. Ten per cent discount would be offered for buyers, he said. The mela will be held at HOPCOMS outlets in Banashankari BDA Complex, 24th Cross, 19th Main; Kalyana Mantapa Road, 4th Cross, Koramangala 8th Block; Adi Chunchanagiri Math, Vijayanagar; Race Course Road, Opposite to Janata Dal office; opposite Ladies Club, Malleswaram; R.T. Nagar Main Road; National Stadium, Koramangala; HAL Janata Bazaar; Ramakrishna Ashram Circle, Basavanagudi; Jayanagar 9th Block near Corporation Ward office; 1st Main Road, PWD Quarters, Jeevanbima Nagar; M.S. Ramaiah Hospital premises, 80-Foot Road; BEML Layout, Rajarajeshwarinagar; Channakeshava Nagar, Hosur Road; Mahalakshmipuram near West of Chord Road; Sadashivanagar, Janatha Bazaar; Bannerghatta Police Circle; near PLD Bank, Anekal, near PLD Bank, Channapatna; near Devanahalli Bus Stand; near Kanakapura Bus stand; and near State Bank of Mysore, Banaswadi.
