TN downs Kerala

VIJAYAWADA: Tamil Nadu defeated Kerala 29-12, 26-29, 29-20 in the boys’ quarterfinals of the 53rd junior National ball badminton championship at the Acharya Nagarjuna University grounds here on Tuesday.

Karnataka, Andhra, Hyderabad are the other teams qualified for the semifinals. In the girls’ section Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra and Tamil Nadu entered the last four.

The results (quarterfinals): Boys: Karnataka bt Madhya Pradesh 29-8, 29-8, Hyderabad bt Chhattisgarh 29-6, 29-3, Tamil Nadu bt Kerala 29-12, 26-29, 29-20, Andhra bt Maharashtra 29-8, 29-3.

Girls: Kerala bt CPESCB 29-4, 29-3, Tamil Nadu bt Maharasthra 29-22, 29-7, Andhra bt Hyderabad 29-24, 29-18, Karnataka bt Chhattisgarh 29-14, 29-20.
