Vizag, Krishna post wins

VIJAYAWADA: Vizag defeated Guntur 2-1, while Krishna blanked Prakasam 3-0 in the men’s section of the Andhra senior inter-district carrom championship for men and women at Hydri Club, Ongole (Prakasam District) on Tuesday. District Collector K. Devanand inaugurated the championship.

The results (league) Men: Vizag bt Guntur 2-1, Krishna bt Prakasam 3-0, Prakasam bt Chittoor 3-0, Kurnool bt Vizianagaram 2-1, Nellore bt West Godavari 3-0, Krishna bt Anantapur 3-0.

Vijay Kumar’s 58 helped Noble College (Machilipatnam) beat Guntur’s GSR College by eight wickets in the AP College teachers’ cricket tournament for the Chandu’s Silver Cup at Guntur on Tuesday.

The scores: GSRC (Guntur) 126 in 20 overs (Prasanna 40) lost to Noble College (Machilipatnam) 130 for two in 13 overs (Vijay Kumar 58).

Hindu College (Guntur) 128 for three in 20 overs lost to KVRC (Nandigama) 130 for four in 18 overs.

SRKRC (Bhimavaram) 133 for seven in 20 overs bt SKARC (Amalapuram) 80 in 15 overs.

RVRC (Guntur) 126 for seven in 20 overs (Sesha 41, D. Sarma three for 12) bt Ideal College (Kakinada) 83 for seven in 20 overs.

TJBSC (Guntur) 56 in 13 overs lost to AG & SGC (Vuyyuru) 57 for seven in nine overs (John Ravi four for 18).

The third CMR-VJF inter-media T20 cricket tournament will be held at Visakhapatnam from February 5, according to a VJF press release on Tuesday.
