Bopanna bows out

NEW DELHI: Rohan Bopanna’s preparations for the forthcoming Davis Cup tie against Uzbekistan suffered a jolt as he lost in the first round of the $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament at Guangzhou, China.

The reigning Asian Games champion, the fifth-seeded Danai Udomchoke of Thailand, beat Bopanna 6-2, 6-4.
