KOCHI: State left-arm spinners P. Prasanth and C.P. Shahid came good as Cordiant Sports Foundation, Ernakulam, defeated Thrissur’s Oktopals CC by five wickets and entered the first phase final of the 21st BPCL Kochi Refinery all-India cricket tournament at the BPCL Ground, Ambalamugal, on Tuesday.
The scores: Oktopals CC, Thrissur 111 in 29.2 overs (P. Prasanth four for 18) lost to Cordiant Sports Foundation, Ernakulam 115 for five in 20 overs. Globstar Telecom CC, Aluva 137 in 27.1 overs (Varun 46, Rakesh four for 39) bt Century CC 132 in 30 overs (D.S. Dipu 53). Aneesh to leadDefender K.P. Aneesh of Thrissur will lead the Kerala team in the 17th Dutta Ray Trophy National youth (under-21) football championship which begins in Madurai on February 1. Ummer Farooque is the vice-captain.
