Commits suicide

Tirupataiah (27), an auto-rickshaw driver , committed suicide at his residence in Rajendranagar on Wednesday, the police said.

A suicide note purportedly written by the victim stated that none was responsible for his death.

The second paragraph of the note, however, stated that the management Shubham Finance Company that extended the vehicle loan had been harassing him for clearing the debt.

The Rajendranagar police on Wednesday arrested 24 persons on charge of indulging in gambling by playing game of cards. A sum of Rs. 13.60 lakh was recovered from them.

Three persons, who allegedly committed seven burglaries within a month, were arrested by the city police on Wednesday. Stolen gold jewellery, silver articles and seven mobiles, all worth Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 17,200 in cash was recovered from them.
