Notice to Ministry, IIT-Madras

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has ordered notice to the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development and Indian Institute of Technology-Madras on a quo warranto petition questioning the authority on which the present Director held his post. Justice Prabha Sridevan admitted the petition filed by E. Muralidharan and ordered the notice, returnable in four weeks, on Monday.

The petitioner, as an interim relief, prayed for an order restraining the Director from holding the post till the matter was disposed of. — Special Correspondent
