National Informatics Centre adds information to web site on Pudukottai district

Irregularities can be checked significantly

Names, numbers of blood donors available

PUDUKOTTAI: Details on public distribution system and database on blood donors have been incorporated in a website www.pudukkottai.tn.nic.in. by the National Informatics Centre.

Monthly allotment of sugar, kerosene and other essential commodities supplied to each fair price shop is being updated in order to ensure their prompt distribution.

Irregularities can be checked significantly, according to District Informatics Associate C. Victor.

The database of blood donors contains a whole gamut of information starting from the names and addresses of blood donors, their blood group, and contact numbers.

“The objective of providing blockwise details about blood donors is to facilitate immediate contact with the donors living nearby at times of emergency, so that the needy persons from remote parts of the district will benefit in a big way,” explained District Informatics Officer, NIC, Pudukottai, V. R. Kathirselvam.

The public have begun to utilise the website as a window for transparent administration in implementing welfare schemes such as old age pension scheme.

Government employees are able to keep track of the clearance of salary and other bills by the Treasury.

Their need to make enquiries with the Treasury department has now been obviated.

The website has been made comprehensive through features depicting the maps of taluks and blocks.

It also contains the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all elected representatives of municipalities, panchayat unions and town panchayats in the district, besides information on heritage monuments and rockcut temples for the benefit of tourists.
