YSR to lay stone for dairy college

KAMAREDDY (NIZAMABAD Dt.): Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will lay the foundation to the Dairy Technology College coming up in a sprawling 60 acre land in this town on February 17.

Attending as the chief guest at the 6th annual day function of the R.K. Degree College, Minister for Power, Coal and Minority Welfare Mohammad Ali Shabbir said his efforts to establish a full-fledged dairy technology institute ultimately fructified. The proposed institute, affiliated to University of Veterinary Sciences, Tirupati, will be the first of its kind in the State. The course is much sought after in view of the growing demand for veterinarians, he said.

Admissions to this institute which has been hitherto run in Government Degree College as B.SC Dairy Technology was earlier affiliated to Osmania University. The affiliation was shifted and admissions would commence in next academic year, he added.

Claiming that in no State other than Andhra Pradesh all eligible applicants were being provided with scholarships, he said in next academic year onwards all SC, ST, BC and minority students studying professional courses would get hundred per cent fee reimbursement.

Professor K. Sailu, Registrar, Telangana University, said students would have a bright future in coming years as the entire world has been looking towards India and China for manpower. Laying emphasis on the importance of conduct and personality of students, he said unless students developed good personality they would not come up in career.

The varsity Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kasiram wished the college management and students all the success.

He said he was happy to have heard that many a student of this college got employment in premier IT institutes like Satyam and Infosys.
