YSR to hike MSP for bio-diesel seeds

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has promised to increase the minimum support price for bio-diesel seeds as and when diesel price goes up in the State. At present, the MSP offered is Rs. 10 per kg bio-diesel seeds.

Reviewing the progress made in bio-diesel plantations in the State here on Friday, the Chief Minister said the government had addressed letters to bankers on the bio-diesel scheme, asking them to extend cooperation in opening of saving bank accounts by bio-diesel plantation farmers.

He instructed officials to motivate farmers to take up bio-diesel plantations only on waste lands.
