Sarma unhappy with Vambay homes

HYDERABAD: There is something about Vambay housing scheme that it seems to be dogged by bad constructions everywhere.

If poor quality constructions were made when the scheme was under the district administration, the same is continuing even after GHMC took over the Housing Department.

Commissioner and Special Officer C.V.S.K. Sarma was not at all happy with either the quality of work or the progress of houses for the weaker sections being taken up across 19 sites including Karmanghat, Uppal, Kowkur, Bandlaguda and so on.

He directed his Engineering-in-chief P. Panduranga Rao to personally supervise the work so that the quality is improved during a site inspection on Monday.

Dr. Sarma accompanied by his senior staff officers visited various areas of Qutbullapur circle and interacted with the local citizens.

Demands

The demands for proper roads, water supply, sewerage, streetlights and others were taken note of.

He told his engineers to prepare estimates for the works.
