Case against DMHO

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Saifabad police have registered a criminal case against Hyderabad District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) S. Satyavathi and A.P. Vaidya Vidhana Parishad Vigilance Officer K. Kesaiah following court directions.

A voluntary organisation owner Ch. Sailaja of Khammam moved a local court here stating that she had paid Rs. 3 lakh each to the two accused officers to secure her a Central Government project. She said that the officials made her believe that the amount was required to be deposited with the Government of India for sanctioning the project.

She claimed that the amounts were paid to Satyavathi through her husband K. Prem Kumar and to Keshaiah through his wife K. Saraswathi.

The two officials allegedly deposited the cheques given by Shailaja in their respective official accounts and misused them.

A case under Section 409 (criminal breach of trust) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code was registered against them following the court directions.
