Rynold shines

KOCHI: Rynold Timothy inspired Ernakulam to a 2-1 victory over Thiruvananthapuram in the men’s final of the K.C.M. Mather Trophy Kerala State inter-district team tennis championship on Monday night.

Rynold comfortably beat G. Chandu in the opening singles and later teamed up with Man Singh for a thrilling victory in the deciding doubles.

The results: Men’s final: Ernakulam bt Thiruvananthapuram 2-1 (Rynold Timothy bt G. Chandu 6-1, 6-3; Man Singh lost to Binu Mani 4-6, 0-6; Rynold /Man Singh bt Chandu / Binu 6-2, 7-6(4).
