HYDERABAD: Thieves took away electronic goods costing Rs. 31 lakh and Rs. 60,000 from ‘PCH E zone’ shop at Chandanagar on Monday night. The shop neither has a watchman nor a security alarm system, the Chandanagar police said. A boy, who went to the shop to deliver newspaper on Tuesday morning, alerted the shop owner. “As advertisement hoardings were kept in front of the shutters, offenders could not be seen by passers-by,” Inspector T. Amarkanth Reddy said. The shop owner complained to the police that the burglars took away 80 mobile phones, 25 digital cameras, 25 handycams, 20 LCD computer monitors, five microwave ovens and three home theatre systems. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
