Madhesi strike hits life in Nepal

KATHMANDU: The indefinite strike called by the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) from Wednesday has left the southern plains of Nepal paralysed.

Markets and educational institutions remained closed and vehicles stayed off the road.

The UDMF called the indefinite strike to press the government to concede a six-point charter of demands that includes right to self-determination for the southern plains.
