Payyannur, Christ in final

THIRUVALLA: Ratheesh scored two goals as Payyannur College blanked St. Xavier’s (Thumba) 3-0 and entered the final of the Mar Thoma Trophy inter-collegiate football tournament at the Mar Thoma College here on Wednesday.

Christ College (Irinjalakuda) defeated Ernakulam’s St. Albert’s 2-1 in the other semifinal.

The results (semifinals): Christ 2 (Ivin 60th min., Sumesh 68th) bt St. Albert’s 1 (Javed 6th).
