Demand for funds for Devadula phase III

Walkathon starts at Tapaspalli reservoir in Warangal district

Villagers welcome leaders with traditional ‘arti’

Sangareddy: The padayatra from Devadula to Assembly by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Medak committee began at Tapaspalli reservoir near Cheryala in Warangal district on Saturday.

District secretary Chukka Ramulu launched the ‘metukuseema neeti poru padayatra’ and addressed a public meeting at Lakdaram after entering into the Kondapaka mandal of Medak district.

He demanded the State government to release funds for third phase of Devadula which would mitigate drinking water and irrigation problems in four mandals of the district.

The padayatra received good response in Tapaspalli, Lakdaram, Thimmareddypalli and Kondapur crossroads. The villagers waited for the padayatra and welcomed the leaders with traditional ‘arti’.

While Chukka Ramulu led the walkathon, members of party district committee, party district secretariat, trade unions and student unions participated.
