Naidu to stage dharna for sugarcane price

Sangareddy: TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu will lead a dharna in front of the Medak district collectorate here on Sunday demanding that the government announce a commensurate support price for sugarcane farmers.

Speaking to The Hindu the Telugu Rytu general secretary A.K. Gangadhar Rao said that Mr. Naidu would be sitting through the dharna from 11 a.m. to 4 pm. He is also expected to submit a memorandum to the district Collector or any other officer in charge of the Collectorate. The district unit is also making arrangements for the large number of farmers expected to arrive from cane growing mandals of the district.

Party polit bureau members, MPs, legislators, council members and Telugu Rytu functionaries would also participate in the dharna.
