Rs. 25 crore for rural development

ADILABAD: Collector Ahmad Nadeem on Sunday asked officials to prepare plans for development, from village level and upwards. He said the government will allocate Rs. 25 crore every year for the purpose until the next four years. Addressing the District Planning Committee meeting he said the plan for development should be submitted by April 15. As per the plan 50 per cent of the allocation will be spent at village level, 30 per cent at mandal level and the rest at district level, he added.

The chairman asked officials to identify the pressing needs of people in villages before formulation of a plan. Some of the areas where the villagers needed help was in providing safe drinking water and drainages, he pointed out.
