NEW DELHI: World champion Viswanathan Anand outplayed Norwegian wonder-boy Magnus Carlsen with a flawless endgame display in the third round of the Morelia-Linares round-robin chess tournament at Morelia, Mexico, on Sunday. Anand, who bounced back from the second-round defeat at the hands of Levon Aronian, has two points and trails leader Veselin Topalov by half a point. Topalov defeated Vassily Ivanchuk to head the eight-player field. The fourth round will be played after a day’s rest.
