National meet on advanced materials today

TIRUPATI. The Department of Physics, S.V. University, is hosting a three-day national conference on ‘Advanced Materials, Devices and Technologies’ (NCAMDT-2008) from Wednesday.

The meet to be attended by scientists and engineers from academia, industries and national laboratories will cover a wide range of activities on the design, development of new materials, devices and technologies that will have an impact on almost every area of science and engineering.

According to L. Rama Moorthy, convener, the meet will also provide a common platform for scientists and engineers from all the three sectors to put their heads together for a study of recent developments in materials, devices and technologies and to explore the possibilities of hammering out collaborative projects in addressing the emerging problems in 20 identified critical areas including laser science and technologies, nano photonics, nano-materials and nano-electronics, MEMS, etc.
