BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday viewed seriously the conduct of a member of the managing committee of Shree Mookambika temple at Kollur and restricted him from participating in the affairs of the temple. A Division Bench comprising of Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph and Judge B.V. Nagaratna, passed the order on a petition by V. Srinivas and other devotees. The petitioners had questioned the decision of the Commissioner of Religious and Charitable Institutions and Endowments to appoint Naveen Chandra as a member of the temple’s managing committee. The Bench noted that Mr. Chandra had several cases registered against him and that he had not disclosed them to the authorities before his appointment nor did he mention them in the application form filed before the Endowment Commissioner.
