Man gets double life term

MADURAI: A fast track court here awarded double-life term to a man accused in a double murder case.

According to the prosecution, S. Kasi alias Kasinathan (19) of S. S. Colony here had murdered his mother Noorjehan (40) and her paramour, P. Stalin (30), of Jaihindpuram ithe city on February 27, 2007.

Noorjehan had separated from her husband and was living with Stalin for a couple of years.

Enraged over this, Kasi stabbed the duo to death.

The third FTC judge, G. Savithri, who heard the case, said the prosecution had proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.

The judge sentenced the accused to undergo double life imprisonment (to run concurrently) and imposed a penalty of Rs. 10,000.
