MUMBAI: Reliance Communications (RCom), the largest integrated telecommunications player, has announced a new umbrella brand, Reliance Globalcom, which consolidates its global telecommunications business and operations.

Reliance Globalcom brings under its fold a diverse portfolio of global communications business services, including global voice, management networks, carrier ethernet, and fibre capacity businesses into a single group.

Under the consolidation to accelerate the growth of the global business, RCom also announced the alignment of its subsidiaries. Yipes Enterprise Services Inc. has changed its name to Reliance Globalcom Services Inc. and will now represent the Enterprise Division of the company. The product portfolio of FLAG Telecom has been rebranded ‘Reliance FLAG’. The Managed Services division of Reliance Globalcom would tap the exponential growth potential in the emerging areas of network operating centres, hosting and storage services, call centre solutions and voice portals, among others.

According to Punit Garg, President, Global Business, RCom, the company has chalked out an expansion strategy with a total expenditure plan of $2 billion to be financed through internal accruals.

Mr. Garg said Reliance Globalcom would consider an initial public offering (IPO) at a later date.
