BANGALORE: Arts and craft offer children an opportunity for self-expression.

They aid growth, provide the means to experiment and explore the potential within and also display their understanding of the world around them.

The imagination and creativity of students from classes 1 to 7 was evident at the “Creativity at Its Best”, an art and craft exhibition organised by Bishop Cotton Boys’ High School on Residency Road here.

From handmade candles to embossed paintings, each work depicted the creativity of students and their ability to conceive and convey their ideas.

Karan Shekar, a V standard student, who had made a submarine using bottles, tissue paper, water and glue, said that it was fun making a submarine using waste material.

He had also exhibited his embossed paintings and needle work. “It took me one day to make the submarine and five days for the embossed painting,” Karan said.

P. Davis Jeffrey said that he enjoys making useful items than watching television. “I have made candles. I am also interested in drawing, painting and pencil shading. About 20 works of mine have been exhibited here,” he said.
