Visakh Refinery golden jubilee celebrations held

VISAKHAPATNAM: A two-day technical seminar ‘MR-VR seminar’ was organised by the Visakh Refinery of HPCL as part of its golden jubilee celebrations.

Officials of both the refineries of HPCL – Mumbai Refinery and Visakh Refinery – participated in the seminar.

At the inaugural ceremony, Director of Refineries (HPCL) M.A. Tankiwala emphasised the need for organising such seminars on specific issues on a global basis. He felt that technical capabilities could be developed further through interaction on the technical aspects on problematic issues. He released a compendium on the occasion.

Executive Director of Visakh Refinery P.A.B. Raju spoke on the activities of VR during the golden jubilee year. He said that the seminar would benefit both the refineries and increase their global exposure.

General Manager (Technical), VR, VVR Narsimham and Chief Manager (Reliability), VR, P. Veerabhadra Rao spoke. At the valedictory function, Executive Director of Oil Industries Safety Directorate J.B. Varma gave away prizes to five best paper presenters.

Executive Director, Mumbai Refinery, D.K. Deshpande and ED, International Trade and Shipping A.B. Sathe spoke.
