Matters of faith: Governor N. D. Tiwari at the inaugural of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Sri Venkateswara Veda Sastra Agama Vidwat Sadas in Tirumala on Saturday. TIRUMALA: Governor N.D. Tiwari on Saturday underlined the need for carrying out rigorous research work on Vedas to further establish their relevance in a more systematic manner in the contemporary era of science and technology. In an inspiring speech at the inaugural sessions of the six-day Silver Jubilee celebrations of Sri Venkateswara Veda Sastra Agama Vidwat Sadas, which took off to a colourful start at Vedagiri atop Tirumala town, the Governor said that it is already an established fact that many scientific theories find their reference in the Vedas. The Governorwas all praise for the temple administration and lauded the initiative taken up by the management in setting up the Vedic University - the first of its kind in the entire country. Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion include TTD Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy, Tirumala temple pedda jeeyar Sri Rangaramanuja Swamy, Kanchi pontiff Sri Jayendra Saraswati, the chief pontiff of Pejawar Mutt Sri Viswesa Thirtha and the TTD Executive Officer K.V.
