Ex-armyman dies in mishap

Moga: A retired Army officer was killed and four of his family members were seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a police vehicle near Gill village on the Moga-Kotkapura road on Sunday, police said.

Colonel Jaswant Singh (retd.), 88, died on the spot while four members of his family were seriously injured, they said.

All the three occupants of police vehicle were also injured while the driver of the army officer’s car escaped unhurt, they said, adding the family was going to Abohar from Jalandhar. — PTI
