Woman charred to death

A 53-year-old woman was charred to death at her residence in Patamata on Sunday. The police said that Chalasani Santakumari, 53, lost her mental balance following the death of her husband Venkateswara Rao a few months ago. In the early hours of Sunday, she doused herself with kerosene and set herself ablaze, the police said. She was rushed to the Government General Hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment. A case was registered.
