Adjourned

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Monday adjourned to March a petition by a private company, Bhoruka Steel, challenging the refusal of the authorities to permit it to start construction of a mini-hydroelectric power plant across Tungabhadra near the world heritage site of Hampi. When it decided to go ahead with the project, a notification was issued bringing under the anvil of the Hampi World Heritage Management Authority 28 villages, including Sanapur. The notification restricted construction activity and imposed other conditions. — Staff Reporter
