Thiruvananthapuram: Industries Minister Elamaram Karim has said the government is trying to revive Keltron with the help of the Indian Space Research Organisation and agencies in the defence sector such as the Indian Air Force. He was inaugurating Keltron’s knowledge centre meant to mould a pool of trained professionals for information technology (IT), communication and IT-based entertainment companies. Mr. Karim said the government proposed to restore Keltron to its old glory within two years. The government had taken over the debt of the company and was clearing it in a time-bound manner. A sum of Rs.24 crore had been paid so far. It was getting a lot of new orders. Professionalism would be infused at the management level, fresh appointments would be made and new technology and production methods would be adopted.
