Kuala Lumpur: High on confidence, a rampaging Indian team needs to guard against complacency to ensure a win against New Zealand in the semifinals of the under-19 cricket World Cup in the day-night match at the Kinrara Oval on Wednesday. The Indians, who came here after a successful tour of South Africa, would be motivated to cross the semifinal hurdle to clinch the title, which they lost to Pakistan in the previous edition at Colombo. New Zealand coach Kane Williamson warned the Indians that his team was constantly improving its game. “We have been improving with every game,” he said. The Indian teenagers, under Virat Kohli’s leadership, have so far done almost everything right in their quest to glory with consistent performances from the batsmen as well as the bowlers. — PTI © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
