VIZIANAGARAM: A 12-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly raped by a 50-year-old man, Annabattula Babu Rao, at her home in Vivekananda Colony in Parvathipuram on Tuesday evening, according to Circle-Inspector L. Rajeswara Rao.

He allegedly committed the crime when the girl was alone at home. Her parents are living in Chennai and she is staying with her aunt. He was arrested following a complaint with the police on Wednesday.
