NECC, Royal post wins

VIJAYAWADA: NECC defeated South Central Railway by 37 runs, while Royal CC scored a 333-run victory over Sakthi CC in Krishna District Cricket Association’s power league for the Kartagadda Madhusudhana Rao Memorial Trophy on Wednesday.

The scores: NECC 187 in 31 overs (Balu 48) bt SCR 148 in 28.4 overs; Royal CC 382 for nine in 49 overs (Ch. Ramesh 118, Chiranjeevi 50, Ch. Ramu 43, Raju four for 68) bt Sakthi 49 in 14.5 overs (Nagaraju five for 24, Dinesh four for 16).

SZ kho-kho

The ninth South Zone junior (under-18) kho-kho championship for boys and girls will be held from February 28 to March 1 at the Zilla Parishad Boys High School grounds, Gannavaram.

Teams from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Telangana and Andhra will take part.

District Collector Navin Mittal and Z.P. Chairman, K. Nageswara Rao, will inaugurate the tournament on Thursday at 4 p.m.
