North Paravoor in quarterfinals

KOCHI: North Paravoor defeated Alappuzha by 43 runs to enter the quarterfinals of the S. Easwara Iyer Trophy and A. Achuthan Nambiar Trophy all-Kerala inter-Bar Association cricket tournament, which began at the Ambedkar Stadium, here on Wednesday.

The scores: North Paravoor Bar Assn. 139 for nine in 20 overs bt Alappuzha Bar Assn. 96 in 19.3 overs.

Easy for Kollam

Kollam beat Kottayam 2-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the State senior football championship at Malappuram on Tuesday. Vinod Kumar and Riyad were the scorers.
