Protest against illegal sale of plots allocated to government employees Sangareddy: The general body meeting of the municipal council here witnessed heated arguments between members and the town planning officials over the alleged efforts to regularise illegal layouts in the town. Members raised objection over the inclusion of the subject of regularisation of few plots earmarked for Class IV employees behind New Collectorate to few private persons. The members, led by ward councillor B. Mallesham, announced that they would submit a dissent note to the Collector and Commissioner protesting illegal sale of plots allocated to government employees and efforts to regularise them through the general body. All the councillors cutting across the party lines supported the resolution. Similarly the councillors expressed concern over the “Gravel scam” in the municipal area. The councillors alleged that crores of rupees have been paid to contractors for supplying gravel without resorting physical verification.
