Probe into remand prisoners’ death

The Collector and District Magistrate of Krishna district has ordered the Sub Collector and the Sub Divisional Magistrate to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the circumstances that led to the death of remand prisoners Simhadri Srinivasa, son of Ramulu, and Jeerala Durga Prasad, son of Venkata Narasaiah at Government General Hospital, Vijayawada, on November 8, 2007, and January 18, 2008, respectively. The inquiry would be conducted at the Sub Collector’s office on March 3.
