Sanitary Inspector held

The Sanitary Inspector of Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation, Anala Satyanarayana, was arrested at his office by the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on charge of accepting Rs. 1,000 bribe from a person for issuing death certificate. He tested positive when subjected to a chemical test and was produced before a special court, according to a press release issued here.

Sex worker killed

A food-joint worker Dileep allegedly murdered a sex worker after engaging and taking her to his rented house at NTR Nagar on Wednesday night, the police said. The victim, is yet to be identified.

Dileep was residing in the house along with his employer Razak and co-worker Prashant. Dileep left the fast food centre around 7 p.m. saying he was going home.

“It seems he consumed liquor and engaged the prostitute on the way home, says LB Nagar Inspector V. Surender Reddy. According to police, the worker picked up a quarrel with the woman and strangled her to death.

Dileep was picked up late in the night and is being questioned.
