Vasanth-Pai duo triumphs

BANGALORE: K.P. Vasanth Kumar and Jayaram Pai of Karnataka bagged the above-45 doubles title in the National veterans badminton championship at Hyderabad.

The duo beat John Mathai and Abraham of Kerala 21-19, 21-14 in the final.

This was the second consecutive National veterans title in this age group for the Karnataka duo.

In the men’s singles final, Vasanth lost to Shyam Pardeshi (Gujarat) 18-21, 10-21 in the final. Vasanth had finished runner-up last year also.
