ADILABAD: Adilabad municipal Chairman Digambar Rao Patil on Saturday offered to quit if charges of corruption against him are proved by any one person in the entire municipality. At a press conference here, an emotionally charged Mr. Patil said some councillors were circulating rumours that he was accepting 4 per cent commission from contractors. “Never in my 32 years of political career have I done so”, he said adding that he will proceed legally against such allegations. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
