‘Bhoomi puja’ for JNTU performed

VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Housing Botsa Satyanarayana performed ‘Bhoomi Puja’ for the construction of JNTU Engineering College building at Dwarapudi here on Sunday. In the phase-I, the college will have two hostels (one each for men and women), a three-floor academic block, 10 laboratories, six libraries, three seminar halls etc on an area of 82,635 sft. It would cost Rs. 28.10 crore.

On the occasion, Mr. Satyanarayana said that the Chief Minister as promised had sanctioned three JNTU Engineering Colleges – Pulivendula (Cuddapah), Jagityala (Karimnagar) and Vizianagaram and began completing them. The college in Vizianagaram would come up on 90 acres of land, he added.

Later, as part of ‘Samkshema bata’, he along with Minister for Transport Kanna Laxminarayana, inspected SC Hostel for Boys at Gajapathinagaram.
