GURGAON: For the second time in his career, Korea’s Choi Kyung-Ju walked away with the Johnnie Walker Asian Player of the Year Award. Winner of the Memorial tournament and the AT&T National, both on the US PGA Tour last season, and fifth in the Fed Ex Cup, Choi broke into the World top-10 rankings. Choi, winner in 2002, was chosen ahead of last year’s Asian Tour Order of Merit winner China’s Liang Wen-Chong and Thailand’s Chapchai Nirat. The other two main awards went to Korea’s Lee Sung and Argentina’s Andres Romero. — Special Correspondent © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
