KSP wins title

VIJAYAWADA: Karnataka State Police defeated Dhanraj-Ballal Hockey Academy 3-1 in the final of the Golden Jubilee all-India invitational hockey tournament, organised by the Dharmavaram Athletic Association at Dharmavaram on Sunday, according to information reaching here.

Rathod opened the account for KSP in the 15th minute through a field goal, while Dhanraj-Ballal outfit’s Varghese netted the equaliser in the 21st minute. KSP’s Chetan Kumar and Umesh Mujagar scored goals in the 55th and 66th minutes to seal the fate of Dhanraj- Ballal HA.

In the third place play-off, STC (Secunderabad) outplayed Vizag District Hockey Association 5-3 in the tie-breaker.
