Row over move to shift Municipal Commissioner

KURNOOL: Controversy is raging over the reported move to shift Municipal Commissioner Vandana Kumar.

While the Congress corporators tried to bring pressure on the government with their resignations to shift some of the officials, the CPI(M) party led by MLA M.A. Gafoor backed the Commissioner and other officials.

Corporators belonging to the Congress and the CPI(M) have been at loggerheads for some time. The officials were sandwiched between the two parties due to intense political rivalry. The CPI(M) threatened to launch an agitation if the Commissioner was shifted.
