Six held, stolen ornaments recovered

Kakinada: Stolen gold ornaments and diamond jewellery worth nearly Rs. 15 lakh were recovered by Kakinada rural police on Tuesday.

A six member gang led by P. Anil Kumar of Anakapalli and comprising S. Anil Kumar Visakhapatnam, B. Annaji (Gajuwaka), A. Appala Raju (Allipuram, Visakhapatnam), L. Srinivasa Rao (Anakapalli) and G. Uday were arrested in this connection by the rural circle inspector R.V.S.N. Murthy. The thefts were committed in Ongole, Visakhapatnam and Eluru and almost 95 per cent of the stolen property were recovered, according to the Superintendent of Police B. Sreenivasulu who produced the thieves before the media. He gave away cash rewards to the police team which busted the racket.
