Uday Kiran hits rock bottom with another worst film of his career.Lakshmi Putrudu can be termed as another landmark in bad cinema and has almost nothing to recommend it.

With an actress who looks twice his age, Uday Kiran struggles to play a doting son and a part time lover.

While the first half of the film is devoted to showing Uday Kiran tracing his father (Satyaraj), the poster interval throws light on how Satyaraj turned mentally unstable.

The film emphasizes on the father-son relationship and long drawn discussions on treatment so much that one would think the hero of the film is Satyaraj and the film was made to advertise ayurvedic medicines from Kerala. Also no effort was made to give it a Telugu touch and as such it just does not connect with the audience.

Too many plots make the film confusing like the love story, Satyaraj’s past, a brief history of his adversaries, politics et al. Brahmanandam’s spoof on Rajnikant and his dialogues from Sivaji fails to elicit laughs, and his work is outdated and dumb.

He is a beloved comedian but his inclusion here just adds insult to a very injurious piece of imitation. Dia, the leading lady has nothing much to do than being a participant to Uday Kiran’s antics and rooting for him in dream duets. Watch the film only if you want to have a fleeting glimpse of Shakeela and Mumait Khan and would want to know know how far the filmmakers could go to put a full stop to the Tamil flavoured drama. An uninspiring script, bad narration, jerky editing and photography add to the misery.
