Installation ceremony of Scouts and Guides unit

Praveen Kumar was installed as its patron

HUBLI: The installation ceremony of the State-level unit of Bharat Scouts and Guides was held here recently.

General Manager of South Western Railway Praveen Kumar was installed as its patron and president of the South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation Rita Kumar installed as vice-president (Guides).

Service to humanity

“Service to humanity is service to God, which is the guiding principle of scouting”, he said.

Mr. Kumar called upon scouts and guides to adhere to the movement’s motto, imbibe wisdom and to strengthen themselves physically and mentally as it would enable them to serve society better.

The following railway officials were installed as office-bearers of the Bharat Scouts and Guides State unit: Sanjeev Handa (vice-patron), D.G. Diwate (president), A.V. Sivaprasad (vice-president, Scouts), Prithwi Thaware (State Chief Commissioner), R. Baskaran (State Commissioner — Scouts), Usha Madalli (State Commissioner — Guides), S.K. Gupta (secretary), Deepa Kotnis (treasurer), Sameer Basha (Assistant State Commissioner — Scouts) and Suvarna Deshpande Dass (Assistant State Commissioner — Guides).
