Azeem performs hat-trick for SCR

HYDERABAD: Striker Azeem scored a hat-trick to fashion South Central Railway’s impressive 3-0 win over Shastri Club in the V. Hanumantha Rao Super Cup prize money football tournament at Gymkhana Grounds here on Thursday.

Azeem put Railwaymen ahead in the 17th minute and within two minutes scored his second goal to give them a 2-0 lead at the break. On resumption, SCR continued to dominate and Azeem scored the third goal in the 41st minute.

In another match, Andhra Pradesh Police knocked out Hyderabad Globe with a solitary goal win. In a must-win game, Globe was off-colour throughout. The Police team scored the match-winner through Azam in the 51st minute after a barren first-half.

M. Sai Kumar defeated Mayank 8-2 in the boys’ under-10 preliminary round of the Sun-Jay Tennis Academy sub-juniors tennis tournament at Administrative Staff College of India here.
