Divine grace: AICC secretary and MP Madhu Yashki at the Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta in Nalgonda district on Friday. YADAGIRIGUTTA (NALGONDA DT.): All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki on Friday offered special prayers to Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy seeking “his blessings in the fight to achieve a separate State for Telangana region.” “I sought His blessings to achieve the separate State soon,” Mr. Yashki told reporters after having the darshan of Lakshminarasimha Swamy, who according to him is the “beloved God of the Telangana.” Mr. Yashki had lunch meeting with a group of Congress leaders. The leaders were led by Vuppunutala Purushottam Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana Planning Board. They leaders had a brief meeting to discuss the proposed public meeting to be held at Bhongir on March 24. Survey doneThe AICC secretary claimed that a survey done by a Telugu daily had vindicated the stand of pro-Telangana leaders. “Some of the leaders have been resorting to a false propaganda on the opinion of the majority people. The meeting is aimed at demonstrating the strong sentiment (among people) to the high command,” he observed. “We are not organising the meet on behalf of the party. It’s an attempt to demonstrate the prevailing sentiment among the people of this region. We are arguing in favour of the Telangana for the best interests of the party,” he clarified. Statements hailedHe termed the former Telugu Desam Minister Kadiam Srihari’s open statements on the Statehood for the Telangana as a “good development.” Mr. Madhu Yashki Goud said that he would appraise the latest developments to the in charge of party affairs in the State Veerappa Moily this week. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
