HYDERABAD: Reliance Retail on Friday opened its second jewellery store ‘Relaince Jewels’ at Punjagutta in the city. The showroom, spread in 8,000 sq. ft in four floors, has 100 per cent BIS hallmarked gold and a unique collection of 15,000 designs. Addressing a press conference here, president and chief executive of Reliance Lifestyle Bijuo Kurien, said that the gold jewellery encompassed Kolkata filigree, Rajkot Minakari, Kundan from Jaipur, temple jewellery from Kerala, Jadau from Amritsar and many such varieties typical to different parts of India. The company proposed to open 300 such stores across India in three years, of which 12 would be in Andhra Pradesh in places like Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Nellore and Warangal. The company would guarantee the purity of the jewellery, he said. Rs. 10,000 cr. targetFine quality of diamonds and jewellery suitable for daily and party wear would also be showcased in the store. The company was eying a business of Rs. 10,000 crore at the end of three years, as the organised market (which was presently Rs. 2,400 crore out of the total market size of Rs. 80,000 crore) was growing at 60 per cent every year. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
